Toothache Remedies

Cloves

One of the most effective of all toothache remedies is cloves, the kind you cook with. Take a whole clove and put it in your mouth against the aching tooth and hold there for a while.

Cloves contain a great deal of the anesthetic, anti-septic chemical eugenol. Oil of cloves works even better and is probably the best of all toothache home remedies.

Saturate a cotton swab with the oil and apply it directly to the tooth, being careful not to get any on the gums.

Vanilla

One of the easiest toothache remedies is vanilla. Simply apply several drops of vanilla directly on the bad tooth.

Alum

Mix 1/2 teaspoon of salt with 1/2 teaspoon of alum and pack this mixture all over and around the tooth. This is one of the quickest toothache remedies.

Garlic

Garlic has been known to be very effective when it comes to relieving the pain of a toothache. Just place a small piece of fresh garlic firmly on top of the tooth.

Vinegar

Here is another one of the toothache remedies that is worth mentioning. Warm up a little bit of vinegar and hold it in your mouth near the hurting tooth.
