Tinnitus Treatment

Ginkgo Biloba

Known by some as the best herbal tinnitus treatment, ginkgo biloba has been proven in many studies. Make sure you get a 50:1 ratio ginkgo biloba extract and take 40 mg three times per day.

Garlic

In a blender, mix 1 cup of olive oil and 6 large cloves of garlic. Blend well. Seal this mixture in a jar and let it sit for about one week. Strain it, and put several drops in each ear.

Zinc

Cases of tinnitus have been associated with a deficiency in zinc. Take this tinnitus treatment in doses of 75 mg to 100 mg of zinc per day, after consulting with your doctor.

Also, you can increase your intake of foods that are high in zinc like spinach, cucumbers, collard greens, brussels sprouts, asparagus and string beans.

Bilberry

This is a great all natural tinnitus treatment because it increases the blood flow and circulation in the ears. Take one 40 mg capsule of extract four times per day, or take 40 drops of tincture in 1/4 cup of water four times per day.

Aspirin

Taking large amounts of aspirin has been documented as a common cause of tinnitus.

Lesser Periwinkle

Here's a good one. Lesser periwinkle contains high amounts of vincamine, a chemical compound which has been proven as an effective tinnitus treatment.

Take 20 mg of dried herbs three times per day. However, there are some safety concerns involving this herb, so consult with your doctor before trying it.

Black Cohosh

Another very effective herbal tinnitus treatment, take black cohosh tincture as directed on the label.

Salt

Too much sodium in the diet has been associated with cases of tinnitus. Limit your sodium intake to about 2000 mg per day.

Sesame

Sprinkle sesame seeds on your salad and other foods, or as an alternative, tahini is just like peanut butter, but made with sesame seeds instead. Sesame seeds have been used as a tinnitus treatment in China for decades.
