Scar Treatment

Calendula

Being an excellent anti-inflammatory, and known to promote new healthy cells to grow where the wound is, calendula has been used as a very effective natural scar treatment.

Apply calendula in tincture form directly to the wound until it completely heals.

Vitamin E

Break open a 200 IU capsule of vitamin E and apply the entire contents directly on the scar.

Don't Pick

Don't ever pick the scab off of a healing wound. The scab is a very important part of the healing process and should not be disturbed.

This common sense scar treatment can be easier said than done, especially when it comes to children.

When the scab is removed, in most cases, the tissue is damaged all over again, the healing process has to start all over.

Gotu Kola

Indications show that this member of the parsley family aids in rebuilding injured skin cells, reduces inflammation, and reinforces wounded tissue, making it an extremely effective herbal scar treatment.

Mix 1 tablespoon of gotu kola powder with enough water to make a paste and apply it directly to the wound until it heals.

Bromelain

As well as having anti-inflammatory properties, bromelain cleans up on a cellular level, aiding in breaking down debris at the site of the wound.

Take one 500 mg capsule twice per day.

Aloe Vera

Another excellent herbal scar treatment, aloe vera contains vitamin C and vitamin E and the mineral zinc, all of which are known to aid in the fast healing of wounds.

Apply the gel from inside a fresh leaf directly to the wound.

Zinc

Zinc is known to help speed-heal wounds. Pumpkin seeds, peanuts, sunflower seeds, Brazil nuts, lean red meat, dark meat turkey, and Swiss and Cheddar cheeses are all excellent sources of zinc.

Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Zinc

Here is a very powerful nutritional scar treatment. Take 500 mg of vitamin C, 400 IU of vitamin E, and 10 mg of zinc every four hours each day until the wound is completely healed.

Vitamin E And Wheatgerm Oil

This mixture has been effectively used as a scar treatment for large deep wounds. Make an ointment using equal parts of vitamin E and wheatgerm oil. and apply directly to the healing wound twice per day.
