Poison Oak Remedies

Jewelweed

Jewelweed is one of the fastest working poison oak remedies. As soon as possible, crush up Jewelweed stems and put the juice directly on the affected area of skin.

You can also take a large handful of jewelweed and put it into about 4 cups of boiling water for about 15 minutes. Then strain it and apply the liquid to the problem skin area.

Witch Hazel

Witch hazel will help stop the itching and also promote healing.

White Oak Bark

Another of the more effective poison oak remedies. Make a tea with equals parts of lime water and white oak bark. Soak a compress in the solution and then apply it to the skin.

Vitamin E

This will help the skin to heal and also help to prevent scarring. Apply vitamin E oil or cream directly on the skin.

Vitamin C

Another one of the poison oak remedies that has been known to work very good because of it's natural antihistamine properties. Take 3000 to 8000 milligrams per day. It will help prevent the rash from spreading and also prevent infection.

Shark Cartilage

This will help reduce inflammation. Per day, use 1 gram per 15 pounds of body weight, taken in 3 doses throughout the day.
