Natural Herbal Motion Sickness Remedies Solution

Motion Sickness Remedies

Ginger Tea

Ginger is hands down, the most effective of all motion sickness remedies. Before you head out on the road or depart on the high seas, grate 1 teaspoon of fresh ginger root and add it to 1 cup of hot water.

Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of honey and let it all soak together for about 10 minutes before drinking. For maximum benefit, make sure to drink the solid pieces of ginger that are floating in the tea.

Powdered Ginger

Take 1 gram of powdered ginger.

Ginger Capsules

Take 2 capsules of ginger, 500 mg each every 4 hours.

Herbal Remedy For Motion Sickness With Fresh Ginger Root

As we mentioned, ginger is the best of all motion sickness remedies and therefore deserves special attention. Here are two more ways to reap the benefits of ginger:

Fresh Ginger Root #1

Take about a 2 inch section of fresh ginger root, skin the bark off of it and chop it up really good. Soak it in 2 cups of water for about 15 minutes. To make it even more effective, you can also add a pinch of camomile flowers, orange peel, fennel, and peppermint.

Fresh Ginger Root #2

Take a 1 inch section of fresh ginger root and grate it into 2 cups of water. Boil for about 10 minutes and then add 1 cup of honey and boil for another 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool for about 30 minutes. Strain it.

You can keep this "syrup" in the refrigerator and when needed, mix some with an equal amount of water, give or take, to taste.

Sleep

One of the simplest motion sickness remedies is to just make sure you get enough rest. The more fatigued you are, the better chance you have of experiencing motion sickness.

Herbal Remedy For Motion Sickness Using Black Horehound

Mix 1/2 tablespoon of black horehound with 1 cup of boiling water to make a tea.

Valerian

One 500 mg capsule taken about 1 hour before your travels should sooth and calm the stomach.

Juice

If you have a juicer, try the following mixture:

Juice a 1 inch section of fresh ginger root, 2 apples and 1 pear.

If all you have is a blender, try this mixture:

Blend a 1 inch section of fresh ginger root, 1 cup of pineapple chunks, 1 or 2 kiwi fruits and a pinch of fresh peppermint.

Peppermint As A Natural Treatment For Motion Sickness

One of the oldest motion sickness remedies and also one of the easiest, take 3 to 5 drops of peppermint essential oil and put it on your tongue when you start to feel queasy.
