Home Remedy For Head Lice

Neem and Tumeric

One home remedy for head lice consists of preparing a neem-tumeric paste by pulverizing fresh neem leaves and tumeric root, four parts neem to one part tumeric, and rub the paste throughout the hair.

Sweetflag

Another home remedy for head lice, sweetflag, is pounded into a powder, mixed with a little water to form a paste and rubbed directly onto the afflicted areas.

Anise Oil, Coconut Oil, Ylang Ylang Oil

This home remedy for head lice can be found in a natural product sold in stores called Hairclean 1-2-3. Its ingredients are essential oils; anise oil, coconut oil, ylang ylang oil and isopropyl alcohol. It is known to be highly effective.

Baby Oil And Dish Soap

Billie from South Webster, Ohio writes: " Take cooking oil or baby oil and soak entire head. Cover hair with a plastic cap and leave on overnight. Wash hair with dawn dish soap to remove all the oil and comb out all nits left in the hair."
