Headache Remedies

Lavender And Peppermint

This is one of the most awesome headache remedies, to say the least.

Lavender essential oil or peppermint essential oil can be used to relieve your headache, but when combined together, they are even more effective.

Mix one tablespoon of vegetable oil, 10 drops of lavender essential oil, 5 drops of peppermint essential oil, and the contents of a vitamin E capsule in an amber glass bottle. Shake well and mix completely.

Warm up a few drops of the mixture in your hands and then gently rub it into your temples and slightly beyond the hairline for a few moments.

When you are done applying the mixture, cup your hands and slowly breath in the aroma for a few moments.

Natural Apple Cider Vinegar As A Home Headache Cure

One of the more effective headache remedies is natural apple cider vinegar. Add one part of natural apple cider vinegar to one part of water. Place this mixture in a small pan on the stove, allowing it to boil slowly.

When the fumes begin to rise from the pan, carefully lean your head over the fumes until the fumes are comfortably strong. Inhale for approximately 50 to 80 breaths.

This generally alleviates the headache considerably, if not entirely.

Herbal Heachache Remedy With Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo Biloba increases blood flow and circulation in the capillaries.

It also helps brain tissue function with reduced oxygen levels in the blood, which is a common cause of a headache.

This is one of the easier to take headache remedies. Ginkgo Biloba can be swallowed in capsule form and is widely available.

Hot - Cold

Some people have gotten relief from applying a washcloth that has been soaked in cold water to the affected area of the head.

Others have been releived by taking a shower and applying a steady stream of very warm water directly to the headache.
