Removing Dog Ticks
Comb
After your dog returns from a romp in the forest, you can remove dog ticks with a fine-tooth flea comb before they attach themselves.
Alcohol
The safest and easiest method for removing dog ticks is to take a cotton swab and dip it in rubbing alcohol, then apply it directly to the tick. Now remove the tick with a pair of tweezers.
Rubber Gloves
Dog ticks can carry Lyme disease, ehrlichiosis, and Rocky Mountain spotted fever, so never use your bare fingers to remove them. If you don't use tweezers, always wear latex gloves.
Grab the tick close to the skin and twist slightly as you pull. Dispose of the tick properly and then wash your hands real good.
